Saferida

Saferida is used in the treatment of diabetic kidney disease. It helps in preventing the deterioration of microalbuminuria (excretion of proteins in urine) in diabetic kidney disease. This is a combination of two antioxidants: Taurine and Acetylcysteine. These antioxidants work by protecting the kidneys from damage by harmful chemical (free radicals).

MODE OF ACTION:

  • Saferida prevents glomerular damage in diabetes and attenuated UACR & STGF-b1 levels in microalbuminuric type 2 diabetic patients.
  • Saferida prevents deterioration of microalbuminuria and enhances non-toxic sulfate conjugation of paracetamol, thereby controlling paracetamol poisoning

  • Radiocontrast induced nephropathy

Dosage

Mucolytic- TID

Paracetamol poisoning- 140 mg/kg followed by maintenance doses of 7O mg/kg for 4 hr for total of 17 doses

Diabetic nephropathy- 3-4 tab a day

Radio contrast induced nephropathy – 600-1200 mg/day for 2 days
