EEB-L Cap SR

Esomeprazole 40mg + Levosulpiride 75 mg Cap SR

1. Esomeprazole: It belongs to a class of drugs called proton pump inhibitors (PPIs). Esomeprazole works by reducing the amount of acid produced in the stomach. It is commonly used to treat conditions such as gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), peptic ulcers, and Zollinger-Ellison syndrome. Esomeprazole helps relieve symptoms like heartburn, stomach pain, and indigestion.
2. Levosulpiride: It is an antipsychotic medication that also has prokinetic properties. Levosulpiride works by blocking certain dopamine receptors in the brain, which helps in the treatment of certain psychiatric conditions like schizophrenia and mood disorders. Additionally, it enhances gastrointestinal motility, which can be beneficial for conditions such as functional dyspepsia and gastroparesis.
EEB-L (esomeprazole and levosulpiride) may be prescribed together for specific conditions where both acid reduction and improvement in gastrointestinal motility are needed. For example, in cases of functional dyspepsia where patients experience symptoms like indigestion, bloating, and discomfort, the combination of these medications may be used to address both acid-related issues and the underlying motility problems.
